DC FanDome NFT collection launches
DC's first NFT drop offered free collectibles to DC FanDome registrants — 15 different items spanning 50 years of comic book cover art. The launch partnership was Palm NFT Studio, the same studio that would later carry the Bat Cowls.

An interactive crew-challenge collection launched, expanding the platform's roster beyond Batman and offering a free entry point for new users. The first drop featured Harley Quinn-themed collectibles and a crew challenge that encouraged community collaboration.

DC Collectible Comics (DC3) launches
First DC3 sale was Superman #1 from 1939. Weekly NFT comic drops began at $9.99 per comic — a much lower price point that opened the platform up to a broader collector base than the $300 Bat Cowls.

The two companies merged under the Candy Digital name. Layoffs followed at both — approximately 30 at Candy, unspecified at Palm. The DC products carried on under the new brand.

Futureverse acquires Candy Digital
Eight months after Legacy Cowls launched, Futureverse acquired Candy Digital. Over 4 million digital collectibles and 1.5 million user accounts moved into the Futureverse ecosystem — joining MLB, Netflix, Getty Images, Warner Bros. Discovery, and DC Comics IP.

The last primary sale goes live
Detective Comics (1937-2011) #40 went live — the last primary sale the platform would run. None of the drops scheduled for the following week made it out.

Batman #1 Overdrive Reward airdrops
The final airdrop. Distributed to accounts that crafted all variants during the preceding Overdrive event — the platform's last completed reward cycle.

Primary sales paused indefinitely
Scheduled sales for September 24 did not go live. In the Discord channels, Candy cited "unexpected technical difficulties during [the] migration and integration process with Futureverse" and paused all previously scheduled primary sales for DC & MLB brands "until further notice."

Futureverse enters voluntary administration
Only 5.5 months after acquiring Candy Digital, Futureverse entered voluntary administration and receivership after failing to secure essential funding. A message is posted in the Candy Discord stating that "Candy Digital, The Root Network, FuturePass, and, importantly, our partnerships with DC and MLB remain unaffected". However, the reality would be a longer and more complex wind-down process that ultimately left the platform's future in limbo.

Login failures reported in Discord
A community member posted in the DC3 Collectibles Discord #bug-report channel about login issues stemming from Futurepass affecting users. The first public signal that the underlying auth infrastructure was failing and that the issues were deeper than initially publicized.

Futureverse Corporation enters liquidation and purchases become unavailable.
Liquidation made official with $137.4 million in retained losses. The same day, a community member reported in the DC3 Collectibles Discord that purchases could no longer be completed on the marketplace.

Unlimited Core Edition sales expire
The last form of primary sales — the open-edition Core tier on outstanding drops — reached their expiration. From this date forward there were zero primary sales on the platform. At this time, there has been no official communication about the status of the platform since the September 2025 announcement, and the website and app remain live but non-functional for purchases.

Candy.io enters maintenance mode via Announcement in Discord
The Candy.io site went into a locked maintenance state. An accompanying announcement said issues had been identified and withdrawals would be processed in the coming weeks, with a new site planned to view collectibles. No specifics were given about the nature of the issues or the timeline for resolution. A brief follow-up message on February 4th reiterated that work continues.
Due to unexpected technical difficulties during the migration and integration process with Futureverse, we're pausing all previously scheduled primary sales for our DC & MLB brands until further notice.

While the platform sits between worlds, DC3.Wiki has been rebuilt as a Solana-aware archive and live catalog. Every legacy collection from the first chapter is preserved here for reference; new Solana drops will surface as they go live.
